Our story

CMMN SWDN is a Swedish based contemporary fashion brand founded in 2012 by husband and wife duo Saif Bakir and Emma Hedlund Bakir.

Through their diverse backgrounds and design disciplines, the designers constantly play on contrasting elements and unexpected pairings. Starting from their commitment to high quality fabrications and their signature silhouettes, the collections merge the textured with softness, the anecdotal with experimental, and seek to traverse the boundaries between masculine and feminine.


The duo approaches design with a focus on longevity and continuous development. Collections are built to exist beyond a single season, with an emphasis on material quality, construction, and the ability for garments to be worn over time.


Working closely with European mills and manufacturers, the brand prioritises considered material choices and responsible production practices where possible, while maintaining a commitment to design integrity and product performance.

The collections cover ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories and bags.
